Lot Description

Three dashboard/cockpit clocks. Comprising: a Waltham Watch Co. car example, with 3.5" Arabic dial, subsidiary seconds dial beneath 12 and wind indicator beside, marked "WALTHAM WATCH CO.", stamped verso K-3, the associated screw-on rear cover concealing a bottom-wound movement with cut-away backplate stamped "WALTHAM WATCH CO. 8 DAYS 15 JEWELS ADJUSTED", numbered 19510395, 4.1", (10.5cm) diameter, on later display stand with card mount annotated verso "1935-41 B17 BOMBER CLOCK...", together with A World War II aircraft cockpit clock, with 2-inch black dial having Arabic quarters, white hour markers and green minute track, inscribed "8 DAYS MK. IV", stamped verso "A.M. 106A/322 4167/41" (A. M. for Air Ministry, 106A for American Aircraft, dated 1941), within four-lobed housing; and a Smiths transistor clock, (3).

1. Dial grubby, minor scratch to glass. Rear cover not original and is damaged. No military markings (m,ay have been on original rear cover), attribution to B17 bomber is in a restorer's hand in pencil to the card mount, sold 'as is'.
2. General paint flaking. Green minute markers could be a later alteration (should apparently be white)
3. Light rusting.
