Lot Description

Victorian silver mug of baluster form, standing on a spread circular foot with beaded rims and leaf capped scrolling handle, removal of engraving to body. Hallmarked Daniel & Charles Houle London 1871. Height measuring 4 3/4 inches (12 cm), weight 8.3 ozt (259 grams).

The lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. An engraving has been removed from the main body and the silver feels particularly thin to one area. The mug's exterior has been re-finished. Minor dints. The hallmarks are lightly rubbed but legible.
