Lot Description

A pair of early Victorian open salts, the oval cast open work form ornately decorated with flowers amongst shells and scrolls, one glass liner deficient. Hallmarked Robert Hennell III London 1839 and 1843. Height measuring 2 inches (5 cm), gross silver weight 9.4 ozt (292 grams).

The lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Gilding heavily worn. Both wobble slightly. The one glass liner present is heavily chipped to the edge. The hallmarks and maker's marks partly distorted.
