Lot Description

A mid Victorian silver teapot, of squat form on a circular footed rim, with hexagonal spout, scroll handle and foliate grip hinged lid, engraved monogram and scrolling floral design throughout. Hallmarked William Ker Reid, London 1851. Maximum length 10 1/2 inches (26.6 cm). Weight 21.41 ozt (665.8 grams).

The lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Hallmarks clear, legible. General light tarnish. The handle has ivory terminals, the ivory is discoloured and cracked. Monogram possibly reads JJBW. Very minor shallow dent to spout.
