Lot Description

Art Nouveau silver bowl, the circular form with shaped and reeded rim, the body interspersed with applied stylised irises and personal inscription to the footed base conforming in design with pierced irises. Hallmarked Elkington & Co Ltd Birmingham 1904, numbered 22225. Diameter measuring 8 inches (20.5 cm), weight 24 ozt (771 grams).

Condition Report

The lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use.

Heavily discoloured to the interior. Minor dents. Foot has taken a knock and the bowl now wobbles. The engraving is rubbed. The hallmarks appear rubbed but legible.
