Lot Description

George III silver salver of circular form, central engraved armorial, below a crest of crossed paws within a floral surround, raised octofoil edge with gadrooned rim and raised above three hoof feet. Hallmarked Richard Rugg London 1770. Diameter measuring 13 inches (33 cm), weight 33.8 ozt (1051 grams).

The lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Minor pits. Solder visible to the join of the feet but probably as made. The hallmarks are clear and legible. Faint double stamping of hallmarks visible.
