A Victorian silver pair of open salts.

Lot Description
A Victorian silver pair of open salts, each of cauldron form with fluted rim, embossed with a continuous band of floral and foliate motifs with central monogrammed cartouche and standing on three stepped hoof feet. Hallmarked Henry Holland London 1854. Diameter of rim measures 2 1/2 inches (6.5 cm), combined weight 4 ozt (125.8 grams).

Condition Report
Each salt displays general wear, tarnishing and surface marks and scratches commensurate with the age and use. Some deeper scratches in places, especially to the interior of both. Also various minor surface nicks and dints in the metal and some slight loss of detail to the decoration. The shaped rim on one of the salts is very slightly misshapen with a couple of minor splits. The rim on the other salt displays a couple of larger splits. Hallmarks to both are clear and legible.
