Lot Description

Victorian silver cream jug with shell spout and the bulbous body with floral scroll engraving and surround to the dual cartouche, the first with armorial, the second florally engraved, standing on a circular footed base. Hallmarked Edward & John Barnard London 1854. Height measuring 4 3/4 inches, weight 4.8 ozt (150 grams).

The lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. The body displays minor dints and bumps. Patched area to the rear of the body, the oval area with a clear solder outline and loss of the engraving to the area. Depressed area to the body where the handle meets the body. The cream jug wobbles sat on a flat surface. The hallmarks are clear and legible.
