Lot Description

George III silver butter shell with engraved crest and raised on three whelk feet. Hallmarked London 1814, maker's mark indistinct, possibly John (III) and Edward (I) Edwards. Length measuring 3 3/4 inches (9.5 cm), weight 4 ozt (124 grams).

In good overall condition. The lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Further areas of heavier tarnishing. The hallmarks are clear and legible, maker's mark only partly legible as EE below two distorted letters.
