Lot Description
George II silver mug of plain baluster form with scroll handle and spreading circular foot. Hallmarked William Shaw & William Priest, London 1758 (removal of engraving to main body). Height measures 4 3/4 inches (12 cm), weight 10.6 ozt (329.7 grams).

Condition Report
The mug displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Heavier tarnishing to some areas and several deeper scratches and nicks are visible. Some minor surface dints and minor knocks to the foot rim. Removal of personal engraving to the main body, either from polishing or having been filled with solder. Traces of the engraving remain. Slight rubbing to hallmarks, mainly the maker's mark, however mainly clear and legible.
