Lot Description

A Victorian 18ct gold key wind open face pocket watch signed B. & C. Bowman, the white dial with hourly applied Roman numerals, bordered by a minute track, subsidiary seconds dial to six o'clock, round case with milled band, engine turned decoration and vacant cartouche to the rear, hallmarked London 1877, fitted with a signed three quarter plate movement with ratchet tooth lever escapement. Case diameter 47mm. Total weight 80gms.

Open face pocket watch, movement is currently functioning, movement is discoloured and marked, dial is showing scratches, marks and cracks, there is noticeable damage to the subsidiary seconds dial where there are visible chips, hands are discoloured and marked, there are chips to the paint work and hands are showing evidence of rust, glass is scratched, case has medium scratches from use, case back is scratched and design to case back is worn, hinges to case appear to be functioning, bow and pendant is scratched, bow is loose.
