Lot Description

A nineteenth century continental bonbon dish, of flared oval form with moulded decoration and raised above three stylised paw feet. Various struck marks to underside, possibly Hanau, 'IH' or 'JH' struck three times, other marks indistinct. Maximum length measures 6 1/8 inches (15.5 cm), weight 4 ozt (125.5 grams).

The dish displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use.  Some deeper scratches and minor nicks are visible.  Likely repairs to feet or later addition of feet.   On the underside, in addition to the struck marks there are also various stippled initials.
