Lot Description

A Victorian silver key wind open face pocket watch by Jones & Jones, the white dial with hourly applied black Roman numerals, subsidiary sunken seconds dial positioned to six o'clock, bordered by a minute track, circular shaped case with milled band, engine turned decoration and a vacant cartouche to rear, hallmarked Chester 1891, fitted with a signed full plate fusee and chain movement with ratchet tooth lever escapement. Case diameter 52mm. Together with a silver key wind open face pocket watch signed D. Grieve. Case diameter 49mm.

Key wind open face pocket watch, movement currently running - will require a service, some superficial marking on movement and screws, steel components showing some corrosion, dust cover and lock seem functional, movement hinge and clip seem functional, sub-dial stained around perimeter medium chip on edge of dial at approximately 12 o'clock, dial would benefit from careful cleaning, hands discoloured, secondhand mismatched, glass heavily scratched, chip to edge of glass between 9 and 10 o'clock, decoration o0f case edges heavily worn, engine turning and cartouche on case back worn, case shows dints and scratches consistent with general wear, bow seems secure but may need some attention, bow beginning to show signs of wear
