Lot Description

An early 20th century silver amber dragonfly brooch, the ridged body, with abstract-shape amber cabochon wings. Amber AF. Hallmarks for Birmingham, 1920. Length 4.1cms. Weight 8.9gms.

Condition Report

Overall condition fair. One of the amber cabochons is cracked, there are areas of abrasion and chips to both. There are scratches and areas of serious discolouration to the brooch, the date letter to the hallmark is worn and just legible. Maker's mark GWL&CO. Amber possibly reconstituted.
