A 19th century pair of steel scissor action candle snuffers

Lot Description
A 19th century pair of steel scissor action candle snuffers with scrolled stems leading to oval ring handles, and an associated snuffer tray with shaped foliate scroll rim. Together with six other similar pairs of scissor form candle snuffers with associated snuffer trays, all varying in shape and design. (Some A.F) (14).

Condition Report
Varied condition, however all display general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Heavier tarnishing is visible to some and they would all benefit from a clean and polish. The scissor action appears to be in working order on most of them. Some of the pairs are in poorer condition. The central fixing screw, which holds the two sections together, is missing on one of the pairs. On one of the other pairs, the mount keeping the screw in place is also missing.
