Lot Description

An early 19th century lacquered brass miniature microscope by Cary of London, the circular loaded base engraved 'CARY LONDON', with rack and pinion-adjusting stage, condensing lens, tapering barrel and screw fitted eye-piece, approximately 7.5" (19cm) assembled (some parts missing), in a blue plush lined fitted box.

Disassembled, missing screws to attach stem to platform and barrel arm to stem. Otherwise intact but not tested, sold as seen. Base is heavily rubbed/scratched/worn, commensurate with age and use, minor wear to wooden box.
