Lot Description

A late 19th century silver and 9ct gold ruby, emerald and split pearl stickpin. The split pearl sphere, with oval-shape ruby and emerald coiled snake detail. Length 8.5cms. Weight 6.3gms.

Overall condition good. There are scratches to the stickpin in keeping with overall wear. The split pearls slightly vary in colour, with visible blisters and blemishes. There are areas of discolouration to the detail. There is abrasion to the rubies and one ruby is chipped, the rubies vary in saturation of colour, some of the larger with a much weaker saturation of colour. There are visible inclusions and surface reaching fractures to some. The pin is slightly bent. Please see the Important Notices for Purchasers in our catalogue and online for coloured gemstones.
