Lot Description

A Sampson Mordan yellow metal vinaigrette, of plain cornucopia shape, the hinged circular cover opening to reveal a foliate scroll pierced grille, with a 'whistle' terminal to the other end and the whole suspended from a chain. Not hallmarked. Impressed maker's mark to interior of lid. Overall length measures 5 cm, gross weight 16.9 grams.

The vinaigrette is not hallmarked but tests as 18ct gold.  It displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use.  More wear around some of the edges.  Hinges are in working order and the sponge is still present.  Clearly marked to interior of lid with the maker's mark.
