Lot Description

A late Victorian silver playing cards case of oblong form, hinged monogrammed lid and silver-gilt interior. Hallmarked T H Hazlewood & Co, Birmingham 1899. Height measuring 3 1/4 inches (8 cm), weight 3 ozt (93.8 grams).

The box displays general surface scratches, marks and wear commensurate with the age and use. Heavy tarnishing visible and would benefit from a clean and polish. No playing cards present in the lot. Minor dints particularly to the bottom edge. The hallmarks are clear and legible, anchor town mark a little rubbed, also marked to the underside Wilson & Sharp Edinburgh.
