Lot Description

An Edwardian silver topped cut glass vanity jar, of oval form with scroll border, hallmarked Levi & Salaman, Birmingham 1907, length measuring 4 3/8 inches (11 cm). Together with a mother-of-pearl and white metal magnifying glass, the two mother-of-pearl slides fixed in three points with shell style mounts to reveal a slide out magnifying glass.  (2).

The lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with age and use. There is a deeper dent to the top of the lid, but the glass is in good condition with minor nibbles and the hallmarks are clear. The mother-of-pearl is badly chipped in several places, with hairline fractures visible and small marks. The metal mount is highly tarnished, slightly dented, the glass is in good condition with only small nicks to the edge, the hinge functions well.
