Lot Description

A late 19th century gold turquoise and diamond horseshoe brooch. The graduated rectangular-shape turquoise horseshoe, with rose-cut diamond partial border. Length 2.4cms. Weight 4.4gms.

Overall condition good. There are scratches to the brooch in keeping with overall wear. The horseshoe was possibly originally part of a stickpin, with the brooch fitting added at a later date. There are areas of visible solder. The turquoise varies in shade, there are areas of greening in places. The diamonds are bright, there are chips to many diamonds visible with magnification.
