Lot Description

A selection of ivory, mother-of-pearl and tortoiseshell jewellery, to include a late 19th century jet guard chain and carved spherical fob, a carved ivory plaque, five ivory buttons, a tortoiseshell and mother-of-pearl name brooch, together with mother-of-pearl cufflinks, disc and fruit knife. Overall fair to good condition. The tortoiseshell brooch shows areas of drying, it reads Hameln, length 3.5cms. The carved ivory plaque depicts three people in an Oriental scene and is in good condition, length 3.5cms. The ivory buttons each depict the head of a wild cat. The hook and clasp to the guard chain show tarnishing, one jet bead shows a split all the way through and another a large chip, a few others show more minor chips and cracks, length of chain including fob 35.5cms.
