A George II silver sauce boat.

Lot Description
A George II silver sauce boat with shaped rim above floral, foliate and scroll embossing and small crest to one side, with a leaf capped double scroll handle and the whole raised above three paw feet. Hallmarked London, probably 1753, maker's mark partly distorted but possibly 'W.B'. Height including handle measures 3 1/4 inches (8.2 cm), length measures 5 3/4 inches (14.5 cm), weight 3.92 ozt (122 grams).

Condition Report
The sauce boat displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Some general pitting marks and a few heavier scratches and nicks. One of the feet has pushed in slightly so that an impression is visible to the interior. The hallmarks to the underside are rubbed and partly distorted.
