A George II/George III silver caster.

Lot Description
A George II/George III silver caster of plain baluster form, repeated hole piercing to the removable lid with spinning top finial. Hallmarked London, date letter a little distorted but probably 1760, maker's mark to lid only, indistinct. Maximum height measures 4 3/4 inches (12 cm), weight 2.7 ozt (84 grams).

Condition Report
The caster appears in fair overall condition, displaying general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Some minor dints and bumps. There is a patch of deep scratches and grooves to the underside. Hallmarks to the underside consist of Duty mark, lion passant and date letter. Date letter appears to have been struck over an original mark? Lid is struck with lion passant and maker's mark only.
