Lot Description

A George III silver cream jug of pedestal form, embossed with fruiting scrolls and beads to the central vacant cartouche and gadrooned rims. Hallmarked London 1767, maker's mark '?.C'. Height measuring 4 3/4 inches (12 cm), weight 3.5 ozt (108 grams).

The lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use.

The foot is a little compressed into the body on one side. Some loss of definition to the embossing. Minor dints and bumps. Cartouche vacant. Small initial engraving to the underside of the rim foot. Hallmarks partly worn, maker's mark only partly legible, possibly C.C.
