An early George III provincial silver twin handled cup of classic form, the body with heavy later floral embossing and inscription. Hallmarked John Langlands I, Newcastle 1769. Height measuring 5 inches (12.5 cm), weight 10.4 ozt (326 grams).

Condition Report

The lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Minor dents and bumps. Evidence of previous removals of engravings, also with a split and repair in the engraved area. Hallmarks distorted.
