Lot 53

Lot Description

A set of four Victorian silver open salts, each of part lobed oval outline above a footed base, with twin angular handles, hallmarked Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Co (William Gibson & John Lawrence Langman), Sheffield 1885.  Together with a pair of Victorian ovoid shaped pepper pots, also with lobed decoration above a pedestal base, hallmarked John Aldwinckle & Thomas Slater, London 1892.  Combined weight 5.88 ozt (183 grams).

Postage: Auction Default

Weight: No

Total lot weight: No

All the pieces display general surface scratches, marks and wear commensurate with the age and use.  Heavy tarnishing is visible and they would all  benefit from a clean and polish.  The finials to the pepper pot lids are both leaning a little bit.  Some rubbing and partial distortion but the hallmarks are still legible.
