Lot Description
A George II silver twin handled cup, raised on a circular foot, the slightly tapered bowl with flared rim, to the twin 'S' shaped handles, engraved "M*F" and "1745" to the thumb grips and "The gift of Mary Forrester to Edw'd Edwards" to the body. Hallmarked Richard Gurney & Thomas Cook, London 1744. Height 5 3/4 inches (14.6 cm), weight 17.93 ozt (557.7 grams).

Condition Report
The lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Significant solder run to inside edge of foot. Hallmarks and maker's mark worn, legible. Moderate tarnish. Scratch marks to inside of foot. The foot ring is very slightly bent, the cup rocks slightly on a flat surface.
