Lot Description

A George III silver mug of plain tapering form with applied girdle, scrolling handle with heart shaped terminal and standing on a reeded spread foot. Hallmarked London 1777, maker's mark indistinct. Height measuring 4 3/4 inches (12 cm), weight 9.5 ozt (296 grams).

The lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Numerous dints and bumps. The silver does not feel of a particularly thick gage. Solder visible to the joins of the handle. Hallmarks rubbed but legible. Star pellet visible between two letters of the maker's mark.
