Lot Description
A George III Irish silver sauce boat, the oval form with engraved and punched borders to the rim, leaf capped scrolling handle and raised on three shell mounted hoof feet. Hallmarked George West, Dublin 1795. Maximum height measuring 4 1/4 inches (11 cm), weight 5.7 ozt (178 grams).

Condition Report
The sauce boat displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Some heavier scratches and marks are visible, also a few small surface dints. There is slight loss of definition to the engraved and punched decoration, especially around the shell mounts to the feet. There is a possible repair around one of these joins as the decoration has disappeared and solder is visible. Hallmarks are a little rubbed and distorted but still legible.
