Lot Description

A George II silver caster of vase form with crest engraving to the pierced detachable cover. Hallmarked Samuel Wood, London 1736. Height measuring 7 inches (17.5 cm), weight 8.9 ozt (278 grams).

The caster displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use.  Some heavier scratches and deeper nicks are visible, also minor dints.  Seam line is now visible down one side.  It wobbles a little when standing.  Full hallmarks to the underside are legible.  Part hallmarks to the lid, maker's mark partly distorted.
