Lot Description

A 19th century French sienna marble mantel clock, AD Mougin, Paris, the dial with 3-inch white enamelled chapter ring having Roman hours, Arabic quarters and Breguet hands framing and engine turned centre, the two train movement, with AD Mougin Deux Medailles stamp, numbered 1183 64 and additionally VB MC (the latter as monogram) within a book, possibly for Victorien Boseet, Marque de Commerce outside countwheel striking on a bell, the arc-en'arbalete fronted case with eagle surmount, flambeau rear finials and urn front finials, over fluted columns with Corinthian capitals flanking swags, square rear pillars, and bun feet, 15.5" (39.5cm) high.
