Lot Description

A Victorian silver three piece silver bachelor tea service, each piece with applied girdles, shaped rims, high arch scrolling handles, the teapot with further foliate and stippled detail and all raised on a circular pedestal foot. Hallmarked H J Lias & Son (Henry John Lias & Henry John Lias), London 1875. Height of teapot inclusive 6 inches (15 cm).  Gross combined weight 20.57 ozt (639 grams).

In very good overall condition. The lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. A few deeper scratches. Interior lining of the teapot appears hand raised. No visible engravings. The hinge to the teapot lid is a little loose and allows sideways movement. The hallmarks a little rubbed but overall clearly legible.
