Lot Description

A 1950's cased set of silver teaspoons with various coloured guilloché enamel stems and floral details to the reverse bowls, hallmarked Adie Brothers Ltd, Birmingham 1955/6. Together with a Scottish butter knife with green hardstone handle, marked J. McGilvray Oban, a modern Russian spoon with enamelled parrot terminal, a 1930's set of six silver teaspoons and a continental knife, the handle decorated with a cockerel, hen and chick, stamped 830S and with stainless steel blade. The lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. There are some losses to the enamel on the set of spoons, including some large surface losses. The hallmarks to some of the spoons within the set are partly worn, the date letter only legible to 2. No hallmarks to the butter knife and marked with registration number 312011. Russian assay marks consist of a star and 916. The second set of teaspoons, appear quite thin to the bowl edge and more heavily tarnished and hallmarked Birmingham 1935.
