Lot Description

An eighteenth century silver mote or skimmer spoon of traditional form with diaper and scroll pierced bowl, initial engraving, tapering stem and pointed terminal. Lion passant and part maker's mark only legible. Length measuring 13.5 cm, weight 6.8 grams.

The lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Some rubbing and loss of definition. Small solder repair to the bowl, the silver on this edge appears a little thinner. Pointed terminal a little dented. Lion passant clear and legible, part of a maker's mark only present and appears distorted.
