Lot 402

Lot Description

A set of five Victorian Exeter silver dessert spoons, each in Fiddle pattern with engraved family crest to terminal depicting a crowned lion, hallmarked John Stone, Exeter 1853.  Together with a further Victorian Fiddle pattern dessert spoon with matching crest to terminal, hallmarked London 1844.  Combined weight 9 ozt (282.8 grams). (6).

Postage: Auction Default

Weight: No

Total lot weight: No

All the spoons display general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use.  Numerous heavier scratches and marks are visible to all, also heavier wear around edges.  Slight loss of detail to engraved crests.  Some slight surface dints and bumps and more wear visible to the tips of the spoon bowls, but they have generally faired quite well.  Some slight rubbing but the hallmarks are all still clear and legible.
