Lot Description

A novelty telescopic pencil, modelled in the style of a plumb bob with six tapering sections and a globular terminal with reeded border and suspension ring attachment. Marked 'Thornhill No. 1516', also with Victorian registration mark for 1873. Length fully extended measures 3 1/2 inches (9 cm).

Condition Report

The pencil displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Some heavier scratches and contact marks are visible, also some small nicks/dints to the globular terminal. However the overall condition appears fairly good and the telescopic action appears in working order.
