Lot Description

An Edwardian silver sovereign holder of plain circular form with initial engraving and opening to an engine turned sprung platform and holder for a full sovereign, hallmarked Aaron Lufkin Dennison, Birmingham 1902. Together with a base metal sovereign holder for a full and half sovereign. (2).

The lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. The silver sovereign holder displays small dints and a few deeper scratches. The sprung platform has become a little concave, part hallmarks surrounding the sprung platform are worn. The base metal example is significantly worn with a brassy colour showing through.
