Lot Description

A selection of novelty items to include a late Victorian small scent bottle of vase shape, engraved with leaves and suspended from a short chain, hallmarked Birmingham 1888 (missing stopper and lid). Together with a modern silver pill box of circular form divided into four sections, each with a hinged lid, hallmarked London 1993, a modern silver bookmark with cat and mouse finial, hallmarked London 1995, an early to mid-twentieth century silver mounted compact, a retractable pencil, a swizzle stick, a silver handled manicure tool and a late Victorian silver twin handled open salt. Weighable items 63.7 grams. (8).

In varied state, however all pieces display general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing to varying degrees.  Heavier scratches and marks to some parts.  The material lining of the compact is torn and frayed. Some rubbing and wear to hallmarks, but they are mainly legible.
