A 19th century Chinese Canton ivory card case, finely carved in relief in the typical manner with figures, buildings and trees (a/f), 4.5" x 3" (11.5cm x 7.75cm), together with a 19th century Japanese ivory card case of rectangular two section form, the front and back with lacquered decoration depicting birds, insects and flowers, originally inset with mother-of-pearl and coral (now missing), 4" x 2.25" (10cm x 6cm).
