A late 19th century gold diamond, garnet and split pearl oval memorial brooch, the old-cut diamond, within a star setting, atop an oval garnet cabochon, to the scroll panel and vacant panel reverse. Estimated diamond weight 0.30ct. Length 4.4cms. Total weight 19.7gms.

Condition Report
Overall condition fair. Some surface wear in keeping with age. Discolouration and tarnishing. Replacement catch and pin. Significant wear to the gilt surface, particularly to the reverse. There is a hairline split to the collet setting. Garnet is a possible replacement, purplish-red, dark colour saturation. Fairly good clarity with typical inclusions. Gemstone in good condition with minor abrasion and scratches. Split pearls are possible replacements, creamy yellow, vary slightly in hue, fairly good skins with some surface blemishes.
