A George IV silver teapot, of plain oval outline with gadrooned rim, with floral, foliate and shell embossed thumb piece to the scroll handle and further foliate decorated finial to the hinged lid, the whole standing on four ball feet. Hallmarked London 1822, overstruck maker's mark to the main body of 'T.A' over 'W.?', further maker's mark 'WH' to the lid. Maximum length 11 1/2 inches (29 cm), gross weight 19.16 ozt (596 grams).

Condition Report
The teapot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. General surface dints and bumps throughout, also little nicks in the metal. The interior is heavily tarnished, impressions from the hallmarks are visible, also possible small solder repair. There are also dints to the feet and small holes. Hinged lid in working order. The hallmarks appear a little rubbed but are still legible.
