Lot Description

A selection of five early twentieth century Lorgnettes, to include a German blue enamel and stylised geometric pair, a gilt metal pair with white metal and vari-colour floral guilloché enamel handle, a pair with openwork scrolling foliate handle, an embossed floral Art Nouveau style pair, together with a marcasite and engraved pair. Weight of openwork foliate pair 18.9 grams. (5).

The lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with age and use. Blue enamel pair stamped 935, DRGM and maker's mark possibly MA. Floral enamel handle with small chips to the top near the glasses, general surface scratches. Yellow metal pair with small foreign mark to the bridge. The mechanism is broken. Small chips to the glass. Nouveau style example stamped "sterling", mechanism broken. Marcasite pair stamped "platina" to the bridge, stamp worn. Glass with general surface scratches.
