Lot 531

Lot Description

A silver plated chatelaine, the suspension clip of scroll surround with central egyptianesque motif, suspending five open-work link chains terminating in various accessories comprising notebook, pencil, articulated fish scent bottle, scissor case and pin cushion. Maximum length measuring 14 1/2 inches (37 cm).

Postage: Auction Default

Weight: No

Total lot weight: No

The chatelaine displays general scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Some wear evident to the plating. Small localised areas of damage, such as bent scales to the fish. The scissors are later replacements and loose in the case. The pencil case appears crude and with possible repairs. Evidence that further accessories were once present (spare cut chains to the scissor case).
