Lot Description

An early twentieth century silver cheroot holder, hallmarked containing a 9ct gold mounted cheroot, both hallmarked A J Pepper & Co Ltd, Birmingham 1918. Together with an early twentieth century silver cigarette case of oblong form with foliate engraving and monogrammed cartouche, hallmarked Henry Clifford Davis, Birmingham 1918. (2).

The lot displays general surface scratches, marks and wear commensurate with the age and use. Heavy tarnishing. The cheroot has a number of scratches, the mount also dinted. The cigarette case is dented to the corners, the clasp does not hold firmly and the gilding tarnished. The hallmarks are clear and legible.
