Lot 555

Lot Description

A 1940's silver cigarette case, of rectangular outline with rounded edges and engine turned decoration throughout, hallmarked W H Manton Ltd., Birmingham 1941, length measuring 5 inches (12.7 cm). Together with a square shape silver compact with canted sides, hallmarked with same maker and date, and a small continental cigarette case in filigree style. (3).

Postage: Auction Default

Weight: No

Total lot weight: No

All three items display general surface scratches, marks and wear commensurate with the age and use.  Some quite heavy tarnishing is visible and they would all benefit from a clean and polish.  Slightly heavier wear around edges and corners and a slight surface dint to the compact.  All hinges and clasps are in working order.  The hallmarks are clear and legible.  The filigree case has two struck marks to the clasp.
