Lot Description

A rare named Regency brass and steel footman by George Ainsworth of Warrington (fl.1814-1824), the rectangular plate pierced with lozenges and foliate scrollwork, stamped beneath 'AINSWORTH WARRINGTON 17', raised on four D-section supports with trefoil feet stamped GA, united by double crinoline stretcher, 9.5" x 7.5" x 10" high, (24cm x 19cm x 25cm). Ainsworth is recorded as a clockmaker, bell founder and brass founder by various authors including Loomes, Reid, Robey, etc.
