An early 20^th century French surveyor’s brass level.
The 2.5-inch stepped silvered dial beneath folding sights, the outer housing with spirit level, on a ball-jointed support for tripod mounting, in fitted box and with green canvas bag.

Unnamed - but with French abbreviation O for Ouest (not W for West). Some wear to plating of housing, and a crack across box lid. Bag has no handle, is stained and dog-eared.
