Lot Description

A late 19th century 18ct gold cat's-eye gem and split pearl cluster ring. The oval cat's-eye green gem cabochon, within a split pearl and geometric surround, to the plain band. Weight 4.2gms.

The split pearls are well matched with a light grey body colour and purple and green overtones. Moderate surface wear. One split pearl set at an angle, glue to surround, possible replacements. The green cat's-eye gem shows surface reaching inclusions and slight discolouration. Fair chatoyancy. Length of ring head 1.7cms. Ring size N.
