Lot Description

A 1930's silver twin-handled trophy cup, engraved to the front 'The Coventry Hospital Queens Challenge Cup', the campana shape cup with moulded rim, girdle detail to the lower body, foliate and husk motifs to the handles and raised on a spreading circular foot. Hallmarked Alexander Clark & Co Ltd., Birmingham 1930. Height including handles measures 9 3/4 inches (25 cm), weight 29.2 ozt (908 grams).

The trophy displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Some slight dints and knocks and it wobbles a little when in standing position. Some deeper scratches and heavier contact marks. Seam line visible. Remnants of stickers. The hallmarks are clear and legible, slight distortion to maker's mark but still legible.
